One of Italy’s most beloved gelato classics is back at Uno Gelato!
Stracciatella was created in 1961 in Bergamo, a beautiful city in northern Italy’s Lombardy region. The classic combines creamy fior di latte-style gelato with delicate shards of chocolate, created when chocolate meets the cold gelato and breaks into little pieces.
Our version starts with Avalon Dairy milk and cream, organic cane sugar and a touch of Canadian maple syrup. We then fold in our house-made stracciatella chocolate sauce, made with 70% Cacao Barry chocolate, sunflower oil and cocoa butter, for delicate chocolate shards in every bite.
