Inspired by the Arancia Rossa di Sicily (Sicilian Red Orange), our maestro has crafted a refreshing new Blood Orange sorbetto. In Sicily, Blood Oranges are typically at peak ripeness in February. So highly valued by locals, the fruit is considered l’oro rosso or the “red gold” of Sicily. Near Mt. Etna in the province of Catania, a Sagra dell’arancia rossa (Blood Orange Festival) is held the last week of February, where throughout the charming region you can indulge in local gastronomic citrus themed dishes.
No need to travel to Italy for a taste of this exotic delight, our sweetly tart version is made with all natural ingredients: fresh squeezed Blood Oranges, fresh squeezed lemons, organic cane sugar and water. A zesty and gorgeous crimson delight bursting with flavours of ripe orange with hints of cranberry and raspberry. No wonder the Sicilians prize their Blood Oranges as “l’oro rosso,” Red Gold indeed!
